The Role
We are looking for an experienced Probate Paralegal to join our team. The successful candidate will support our Director & Solicitor, Karen Yates, in all aspects of probate and estate administration, ensuring matters are handled efficiently and with sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Preparing probate applications and relevant legal documents.
- Liaising with clients, executors, beneficiaries, and third parties such as HMRC, banks, and financial institutions.
- Conducting legal research where required.
- Drafting correspondence and maintaining accurate case files.
- Supporting solicitors with client meetings and case management.

- Previous experience as a probate paralegal or within wills & probate is essential.
- Strong knowledge of probate processes and estate administration.
- Excellent people skills – approachable, friendly, and able to communicate clearly and sensitively with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems (training provided if needed).
Purpose of Role: To provide support to the Solicitor and to effectively maintain and service a workload, where required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attendance on client in person and on the telephone.
- Maintain high professional standards, confidence and integrity.
- Process cases in an efficient manner.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in law and in practice.
- Be willing to learn new skills and areas of work.
- Comply fully with the Office Manual and Staff Handbook.
- Such other tasks as the firm may from time to time require.

Experience:Experience in public law / care proceedings and Legal Aid work a definite advantage.

For business owners, Karen provides advice relating to succession planning, mitigating inheritance tax and ensuring all available reliefs such as Business Property Relief (BPR) are fully utilised.
